Get paid to test apps on your phone
App developers need to know whether a real person can install their app, get through onboarding and find the feature they built. On Tasklify you do exactly that, on your own Android phone or iPhone, and get a USD reward for every approved test.
What an app testing task looks like
An app test on Tasklify is a short, scripted session. The employer (usually a small studio, an indie developer or a marketing team preparing a launch) writes out what they want checked, and you follow it on your device. Typical briefs:
- Install and first-run check: install from Google Play or the App Store, open the app, confirm it loads and screenshot the home screen.
- Onboarding walkthrough: create an account, go through the tutorial, and say where you hesitated or what was unclear.
- Feature test: try one specific function, for example adding an item to a list or running a workout timer, and report whether it worked.
- Day-two check: open the app again the next day and confirm notifications or saved data behave as promised.
Most tests are estimated at 2 to 15 minutes. The estimate is written on the task card next to the reward.
How much app testing pays
Rewards are set by each employer, not by Tasklify, so they vary. As a rough illustration of what you will see in the feed:
| Type of test | Typical time | Example reward |
|---|---|---|
| Install and open, one screenshot | 2–3 min | $0.10–$0.40 |
| Onboarding with short written feedback | 5–10 min | $0.40–$1.00 |
| Feature test with screen recording | 10–20 min | $1.00–$2.50 |
These are examples, not promises. How much you make depends on how many tests are open for your country and device, and on how carefully you work. For a realistic picture of totals, read how much you can really earn with micro-tasks.
What you need
- A phone you actually use, running a supported Android or iOS version. Emulators and device farms are not allowed.
- Enough free storage to install a 100–300 MB app and a stable connection.
- Your own Google Play or Apple account. Never use a bought or borrowed one.
- The ability to take screenshots and, for some tasks, a screen recording (both are built into modern phones).
You do not need QA experience. Employers want an ordinary user’s view, and a clear “I could not find the save button” is often more useful to them than technical jargon.
How to start testing apps on Tasklify
- Create a free account. Sign up in about a minute and set your country, so the feed only shows app tests you are eligible for.
- Filter the feed to App installs. Open Tasks, pick the App installs category and check the device line (Android, iOS or Any device) before you reserve.
- Reserve and read the whole brief. Reserving holds a slot for you for the time limit shown. Read every step and the proof note before you install anything.
- Test the app as described. Install from the official store link, complete the listed actions, and note anything that breaks or confuses you.
- Submit proof. Upload the requested screenshots or recording and answer the questions in your own words, then submit before the reservation expires.
- Get reviewed and paid. The employer reviews within the period shown on the task. Approved rewards land in your balance and can be withdrawn in USDT from $5.
Free accounts can submit 3 tasks per day, which is plenty for trying things out. If you test regularly, Tasklify Plus removes the cap.
Proof you will submit
Every task lists its proof types before you reserve it. For app tests the usual combination is:
- Screenshots of specific screens, full screen and uncropped, so the status bar and app header are visible.
- A screen recording for longer flows, uploaded as MP4 (up to 20 MB) or shared as a link.
- A text answer with your feedback, for example “the sign-up code arrived after about 40 seconds; I almost tapped resend.”
- Sometimes the username you registered with, so the developer can match your test to their logs.
Tips to get your app tests approved
- Read the brief twice. Most rejections come from a skipped step, not from bad testing.
- Screenshot as you go. Capturing proof afterwards often means repeating the flow.
- Be specific. “Button did nothing on first tap, worked on second” beats “app is fine.”
- Only use official store links. Sideloaded APKs are rejected and can be unsafe.
- Stay within the time limit. If you cannot finish, cancel the reservation so the slot goes to someone else.
What gets rejected
Employers can only reject for a reason tied to the published instructions, and they must write that reason down. Common ones: proof from a different app version or device than required, identical feedback pasted across several tasks, fabricated or edited screenshots, and tests clearly done without really using the app. Faked proof or running several accounts gets the account closed and unpaid earnings forfeited, so it is never worth the risk.
How you get paid
When an employer approves your test, or the review period runs out on a task with auto-approve, the reward moves to your balance. Once you have $5 or more you can withdraw in USDT on TRC-20, BEP-20, Polygon, Solana, TON or ERC-20. New to crypto? The USDT wallet guide for beginners walks you through setting one up.
Frequently asked questions
How much do you get paid to test apps?
App tests on Tasklify usually pay somewhere between a few cents for a quick install-and-open check and a couple of dollars for a longer walkthrough with written feedback. Each task shows its reward and estimated time before you reserve it, so you can decide whether it is worth it.
Do I need a special phone to test apps?
No. Most app tests run on any reasonably recent Android phone or iPhone. Some tasks are limited to one platform or a set of countries; the feed hides tasks you are not eligible for.
Do I have to keep the app installed?
Only if the task says so. Some briefs ask you to keep the app for a day or open it again later; if that is not stated, you can uninstall once your submission is approved.
Why would an app test be rejected?
The usual reasons are missing or cropped screenshots, skipping a step, feedback that is copied or too vague, or installing from an unofficial source. If you believe a rejection is unfair you can open a dispute within 7 days.
Is app testing safe?
Tasks must link to official app stores and may not ask for payment, passwords to your other accounts or sensitive personal data. If a task looks wrong, use Report this task and do not complete it.
