How to withdraw USDT safely: TRC20 vs ERC20 and other networks
Knowing how to withdraw USDT correctly matters more than the fee: a transfer sent on the wrong network or to a mistyped address usually cannot be reversed. USDT exists on several blockchains, and each one has its own addresses, fees and speed. This guide compares TRC20 vs ERC20 and the other networks Tasklify supports, shows how to match your wallet to the right one, and explains minimums, payout timing and the occasional compliance check.
USDT networks compared
USDT (Tether) is a stablecoin designed to track the US dollar, issued on many blockchains. The token is "the same" in value, but a USDT balance on one network is invisible on another. Tasklify currently pays out on these networks (fees are live and include everything you pay us for the withdrawal):
| Network | Fee | Address | Usual speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRC-20 | $1 | T…, 34 chars | 1–3 min |
| ERC-20 | $3 | 0x…, 42 chars | A few min |
| BEP-20 | $0.50 | 0x…, 42 chars | Under 1 min |
| Polygon | $0.20 | 0x…, 42 chars | Under 1 min |
| Solana | $0.10 | 32–44 chars, no 0x | Seconds |
| TON | $0.10 | UQ… or EQ…, 48 chars | Seconds |
Speeds are typical times for the blockchain to confirm after the transfer is broadcast; they can stretch when a network is congested. Your receiving wallet or exchange may also wait for extra confirmations before showing the funds.
- TRC-20: Widely supported by exchanges.
- ERC-20: Highest fee; the most widely supported.
- BEP-20: Same address format as ERC-20 and Polygon.
- Polygon: Same address format as ERC-20 and BEP-20.
- Solana: Check your wallet supports USDT on Solana.
- TON: Avoid addresses that require a memo.
TRC20 vs ERC20: which should you use?
These two are the networks people ask about most. ERC-20 runs on Ethereum: it is supported almost everywhere, but its transaction costs are the highest, which is why it costs $3 here. TRC-20 runs on Tron: it is common on exchanges, costs $1, and confirms quickly. For a small payout the difference is large. On a $5 withdrawal, ERC-20 takes 60% of the amount and TRC-20 takes 20%, while Solana costs $0.10.
The practical rule: use the cheapest network that your wallet or exchange clearly supports for USDT deposits. A low fee is worthless if the receiving side does not credit that network. If you are still choosing a wallet, see how to create a USDT wallet.
Worked example
Suppose you have $20.00 of approved earnings. Withdrawing all of it on TRC-20 delivers $19 of USDT; on Solana, $19.90; on ERC-20, $17. Waiting until you have a larger balance and withdrawing once makes the fixed fee a smaller share of your money.
How to withdraw USDT step by step
- Check your withdrawable balance. Only approved earnings can be withdrawn; pending rewards, deposits and bonuses cannot. The minimum is $5.
- Choose the network your wallet supports. Open your wallet or exchange, choose USDT, then Receive or Deposit, and pick the exact same network you will select on Tasklify.
- Copy the address with the copy button. Never type an address by hand. Paste it, then compare the first and last 4–6 characters.
- Enter the amount and review the fee. The network fee is shown before you confirm and is deducted from the amount sent.
- Confirm and save the transaction hash. Once broadcast, the transaction hash (TX ID) lets you track the transfer on a block explorer.
You can see each withdrawal's status, network, fee and transaction hash in your wallet history. More detail on statuses is on the payouts page.
How to avoid losing USDT to the wrong network
Most lost withdrawals come from a handful of mistakes. They are easy to avoid once you know them:
- 0x addresses look identical on three networks. ERC-20, BEP-20 and Polygon all use the same 0x format, so the address alone will not tell you the network. The network you select must match the network shown on your wallet's Receive screen.
- Memo or tag requirements. Some exchanges give one shared address plus a memo (common on TON). Tasklify withdrawals do not carry a memo, so funds sent to such an address may not be credited. Use a personal wallet address, or an exchange address that does not require a memo.
- Clipboard swaps. Malware can replace a copied address with an attacker's. Always compare the first and last characters after pasting.
- Old addresses. Exchanges sometimes rotate deposit addresses. Copy a fresh one each time instead of reusing an old note.
- Unsupported token. Make sure the address is for USDT, not another coin on the same network.
Minimums and fees
- Minimum withdrawal: $5, from your approved earnings.
- Fee: the network fee in the table above, shown before you confirm and deducted from the amount sent. Tasklify does not add a separate percentage fee.
- What cannot be withdrawn: pending rewards (still in review), employer deposits and promotional bonuses. Those are spendable on tasks only.
How long USDT withdrawals take
| Account | Processing | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Within 24 hours of your request | Network confirmation, usually minutes |
| Plus | Instant; normally broadcast within minutes | Network confirmation, usually minutes |
Both are subject to the compliance checks below and to network availability. If a withdrawal shows as sent but has not appeared in your wallet, look up the transaction hash on the network's block explorer. If it is confirmed there, the funds are on the blockchain and your wallet or exchange is the place to ask.
Tracking a withdrawal on a block explorer
Every blockchain has public websites, called block explorers, where anyone can look up a transaction by its hash. Copy the transaction hash from your withdrawal history and paste it into an explorer for the network you used (an explorer for Tron shows TRC-20 transfers, an Ethereum explorer shows ERC-20, and so on). You will see three things that settle most questions:
- Status: pending, confirmed or failed.
- Recipient address: check it is exactly the address you pasted.
- Token and amount: USDT, and the amount after the network fee.
If the explorer shows a confirmed USDT transfer to the right address, the payout is complete, and a missing balance is a question for your wallet or exchange. Keep the hash either way: it is also the simplest record for your own bookkeeping.
Compliance holds and KYC, explained
Like any service that pays out money, Tasklify has anti-money-laundering, sanctions and fraud-prevention obligations. Most withdrawals never meet them, but a withdrawal may be held for review, and you may be asked to verify your identity, for example when activity looks inconsistent with the rules, amounts are unusual, or a payment partner requires it.
- What verification involves: your full name, date of birth and country, a photo of a passport, national ID card or driving licence, and a selfie.
- What happens meanwhile: the withdrawal waits; it is not lost. If a withdrawal is declined, the amount returns to your earnings balance.
- What gets refused outright: withdrawals to sanctioned addresses or mixing services.
- What makes holds more likely: anything that breaks the rules, such as multiple accounts or fake proof. Earnings from those are forfeited.
A request for ID should only ever come from inside your Tasklify account. Nobody from Tasklify will ask for your wallet's seed phrase, a password or a "release fee". Anyone who does is a scammer; see how to spot task scams.
Frequently asked questions
Which is cheaper, TRC20 or ERC20?
On Tasklify, TRC-20 costs $1 and ERC-20 costs $3 per withdrawal. Solana is the cheapest option at $0.10, as long as your wallet supports USDT on it.
What happens if I choose the wrong network?
If the receiving address does not support USDT on the network you chose, the funds are usually lost or need the receiving service to recover them. Tasklify cannot reverse blockchain transfers.
What is the minimum USDT withdrawal?
$5 of approved earnings. The network fee is deducted from the amount you send.
How long does a USDT withdrawal take?
Free accounts are processed within 24 hours; Plus withdrawals are instant. After broadcast, most networks confirm within seconds to a few minutes.
Why is my withdrawal on hold?
Some withdrawals are reviewed for anti-money-laundering, sanctions or fraud reasons, and you may be asked to verify your identity. The amount is not lost while it is on hold.
Can I withdraw to an exchange?
Yes, if the exchange supports USDT deposits on the network you choose and does not require a memo or tag for that address.
